The yintang point is located between the eyebrows and is one of the most popular acupuncture points used. It corresponds to the area ascribed to as the 'third eye' by many traditional cultures.

Yintang has a very powerful action of calming the mind and is almost always used in the treatment of insomnia, anxiety and agitation. Because of the location of Yintang, it can be an effective point to treat a frontal headache. Yintang also benefits the nose and is often used to treat nasal and sinus congestion, rhinitis and nosebleed. Yintang can also be used to treat disorders of the eyes.

Yintang has other functions that may not be so obvious. It is an acupuncture point that is often combined with other acupuncture points to treat hypertension and dizziness. The yintang point provides homeostasis, which consequently influences the cardiovascular system, and modern studies have widely evaluated the therapeutic effects of acupuncture on the cardiovascular system.

The yintang point is also used as part of facial acupuncture rejuvenation. Yintang is a point that will be used to reduce wrinkles on the bridge of the nose.

Yintang is whats known as an extraordinary acupuncture point, and this is very true considering the powerful effect and numerous uses it has on the human body.
